1. Start with an identifiable review
Open the Opportunity-fit decision record from this site. Give the review a name that a colleague will recognize. Enter the official notice or business reference and its source URL or reference. These fields identify what you are reviewing; they do not fetch the notice or confirm that it remains current. Read the actual source separately and include the date checked in your ordinary notes where useful.
Choose an initial business decision: Investigate, Prepare a pursuit, Park or Decline. In the reason field, explain why that state fits the evidence and when you will revisit it. A useful reason is specific, such as investigating weekend capacity before authorizing proposal effort. The tool begins with one blank fit check and keeps entries only in the current page’s memory. Refreshing or closing the page clears the record.
2. Give each material question its own fit check
Use the Fit question / area field to name a single issue, such as route and access or supplier availability. Select the evidence state that describes what you actually know: Need an answer, Evidence in hand, Gap or Not applicable. Explain what the evidence shows or what remains unknown. A gap means the review has identified something to address; an unanswered question means the team still needs the information to judge it.
Add an evidence reference, responsible person, next action and next review point. The date field is planning text, so include the intended date and any useful context. Add fit check creates another item; Remove this item removes the selected item. Keep sensitive documents, account information and detailed security records in authorized systems. The tool needs ordinary planning notes and references, not the underlying confidential evidence.
3. Read the summary as workload, not an award score
The item summary reports the number of items and how many need attention. Need an answer and Gap count as needing attention. Evidence in hand and Not applicable do not. This is a simple count of your selected states. It does not measure importance, verify the evidence or calculate eligibility. One serious unresolved issue can matter more than several completed checks.
Use the Show selector to focus on one evidence state or return to All items. Filtering changes what is visible; it does not remove the other entries. The summary still describes the record. Before making a decision, review the material questions and their reasons rather than chasing a zero count. A responsible person must decide whether the evidence supports proceeding and whether an unresolved dependency justifies parking or declining.
Fictional worked example: learn with the sample record
Choose Load fictional example and confirm replacement of the current record. Export your own work first if you want to keep it. The sample loads a fictional regional maintenance opportunity with four fit checks. One has evidence in hand, two need an answer and one identifies a gap. The example therefore shows four items with three needing attention. Its decision remains Investigate because route, staffing and resource questions remain.
Read the reason, references and next actions together. They demonstrate what a traceable business note looks like without representing a real procurement. You can edit the sample, but an export still records that it started from the fictional example. Clear record also asks for confirmation and returns to one blank item. Start a real review with your own verified references rather than turning fictional identifiers into an apparent live notice.
4. Export before leaving and review the saved copy
Choose JSON, CSV or Text under Export a copy. Your browser controls the download location. JSON preserves the structured record, CSV provides a row for each fit check and Text creates a readable working note. The export includes the tool’s scope and whether the record started from the fictional example. Exporting does not submit the record to an agency, send it to the publisher or save it inside an account.
Open the downloaded file and confirm that the decision, evidence references and next actions are understandable. The site does not provide an import function, so keep the copy in your approved business workflow if you need it later. Return to the official source before relying on an older record. A useful exported decision explains what was known and what needed attention at the review point, rather than pretending to be a permanent eligibility approval.
Sources & practical limits
Sources checked October 25, 2026. Official procurement sources support rule-related statements; first-party product pages support product descriptions. The guides support a business review of opportunity fit. They do not list live opportunities, determine eligibility or predict awards. Check the actual opportunity and applicable rules.
